Qatar Foundation International (QFI), LLC, is a U.S.-based member of Qatar Foundation (QF). QFI is both a grant-making organization and a convener of thought leaders on issues related to global and international education, open education and education technologies as they intersect with the three core QFI programmatic areas: Arabic language and Arab culture, STE{A}M (STEM plus the Arts), and Youth Engagement.

Northwestern professor raises questions about its branch in Qatar

Northwestern University professor Stephen Eisenman seems to be crying foul, or at least asking questions about the school’s exported journalism program educating students in Qatar. In an interview with the Washington Post published in December of last year, Eisenman talked about things like censorship and human rights violations in Qatar that hamper the efforts of the American universities to maintain a presence there.

Justin Pulliam, a Texas A&M graduate, has called for the immediate closing of the Texas A&M branch in Qatar. Pulliam is concerned his university is educating radical extremists.

Qatar Science and Technology Park announces board appointments

The Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development said Dr. Hamad Al-Ibrahim will take over as chairman of the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP). Al-Ibrahim is currently executive vice president of Qatar Foundation Research and Development. QSTP officials also announced that several board members would continue their posts for three more years.
