The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Environment and Water has created a new initiative to keep the UAE's coastal environment in good health. The initiative involves the National Center of Meteorology and Seismology, the municipalities of Dubai, Fujairah and Umm Al-Quwain, the municipality and Planning Department in Ajman and the Environment Protection and Development Authority in Ras Al Khaimah.

The fourth of Supreme Environmental Coordination Committee meetings was held in Dubai, allowing members of the committee from around the UAE to come together to discuss progress and implementation of procedures. One of the prime directives the meeting focused on was the enhancement of effective coordination between federal and local authorities as part of UAE Vision 2021.

The United Arab Emirates has entered into a new agreement to collaborate on sustainable agricultural and animal-raising initiatives with the Palestinian Authority. The deal came in the form of a memorandum of understanding between UAE Minister of Environment and Water Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad and Palestinian Authority Minister of Agriculture Sufian Sultan Al-Tamimi.

Officials from United Arab Emirates and South Korea signed a memorandum of understanding to show their commitment to sharing water resources management information. UAE Ministry of Environment and Water Undersecretary Abdel Rahim Mohammed Al Hammadi and South Korea Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Vice Minister Kim Kyung-hwan signed the agreement this week.
