Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will host the 27th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) from September 30 to October 2, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event is organized under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.

This year, Poland’s Wielkopolska Region will participate in WETEX for the first time as part of the country’s pavilion. The Polish pavilion will feature six companies focused on net-zero solutions and future-oriented technologies aimed at international markets.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, said: “The exhibition strengthens the constructive co-operation between the UAE and Poland in priority areas and sectors, most notably renewable energy, agriculture and manufacturing. The annual presence of the Polish International Pavilion at the exhibition has become an essential milestone in strengthening bilateral collaboration, opening new horizons for joint initiatives and unlocking promising investment and trade opportunities that advance economic growth and sustainability in both countries.”

HE Grzegorz Gawin, Head of Mission at the Embassy of Poland in Abu Dhabi, stated: “Poland presents itself at WETEX as a country with tremendous potential for the application of zero-emission technologies, as well as a provider of such solutions for export. Poland is among the European leaders in the dynamic implementation of clean technologies in the energy sector. I hope that WETEX will contribute to the promotion of Polish companies and technologies throughout the Gulf region”

Jacek Boguslawski from Wielkopolska’s Marshal’s Office commented on regional efforts toward sustainability: “The implementation of alternative energy sources not only brings environmental benefits but also provides an opportunity for innovation, the creation of new jobs and the strengthening of energy security. Wielkopolska is committed to the development of a low and zero-emission economy, including one based on hydrogen, by creating ecosystems for SMEs and scientists, as well as participating in energy transition programmes such as the Just Transition Fund for Eastern Wielkopolska. Our goal is to build a regional brand based on modern technologies by creating networks and participating in international industry events, increasing business opportunities in a dynamically developing market.”

Małgorzata Panek-Kasińska, CEO of MK Business Link—the official operator for Poland’s pavilion—said: “As MK Business Link, the official operator of the Polish pavilion and a company connecting businesses between Poland and the GCC, we are proud to recommend the most innovative technologies from our market to regional partners. This year at WETEX, visitors to the Polish pavilion will discover solutions with global potential. We warmly invite companies and institutions to explore opportunities for co-operation.”

Trade relations between Poland and UAE have grown steadily; bilateral trade reached USD 2.2 billion in 2024. By late 2023, UAE investments in Poland totaled approximately USD 180 million across aviation, tourism, electronics, automotive industries as well as science and technology sectors. Conversely, by end-2022 Polish direct investment in UAE stood around USD 272 million covering real estate, technology, science and retail sectors.
