Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) recently collaborated with a delegation from the Dubai Police, who were briefed on DEWA’s organizational best practices for IT service management.

The collaboration is in line with the vision of United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) leaders, who want to improve the use of smart services by adopting the latest technologies and strengthening relationships of mutual cooperation between government and private organizations.

During the briefing, DEWA demonstrated its methods for working with IT service management systems. The team also discussed DEWA’s advancements in recent years as it continuously upgrades services to the most advanced levels in a concerted effort become a sustainable and innovative world-class utility.

“DEWA contributes to building a smart city through smart services initiatives that support the sustainable development of the Emirate,” Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, DEWA’s CEO, said. “We follow the highest international standards in the management and projects implementation, and we focus on a culture of excellence across… all fields.”

DEWA recently received the ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 certification in IT Service Management — a testament to the success of the utility’s successful strategies.

The company hopes to continue such public partnerships to contribute to the UAE’s efforts to create smart and efficient cities that speak to the needs of the future.
