HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani, the prime minister and minister of the interior, recently opened a “Made in Qatar 2015” display at the Doha Exhibition Center.

While at the inauguration ceremony, the prime minister took a tour of the exhibition pavilions and the booths, which are for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as productive families.

The goal of the exhibition is to display the transition from Qatar as a consumer market to Qatar as a producer market and the subsequent diversification of the Qatari market’s income.

The state has made it clear that it supports the private sector and seeks to build partnerships and not competitions between people within both the private and the public sectors. As part of this goal, government entities should not create competition between themselves and private sector businesses.

As for bank facilities for the area’s industrial sector, the state government also supports various industries when their productivity levels align with the cost of manufacturing.

The four-day event is under Emir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani’s patronage. It was organized as part of a collaboration between the Qatar Chamber and Qatar Tourism Authority.
