A new agreement between the Chartered Institute of
Management Accountants (CIMA) and Prince Sultan University allows for students
to obtain CIMA’s global certification and title in addition to their graduation
degree.

Prince Sultan University accounting students are now capable
of putting their professional growth on a fast track to quicken their growth
from the starting point of a CIMA diploma into a management accounting level.
The university is located in Riyadh, originated in 2003 and is the first private
university in Saudi Arabia.

“CIMA offers the most relevant globally recognized business
and finance qualification,” Geetu Ahuja, head of Middle East, North Africa
and Pakistan for CIMA, said. “The qualification focuses on business performance,
management and finance, giving students an advantage to be placed across any
business function. By the time the students graduate, they are not only
financially qualified but also professionally trained in business management,
capable of advising on business strategy and risk management.”

The goal of CIMA’s professional qualification is to help
students prepare for the skills needed that go outside the realm of financial
accounting. The instruction focuses on the levels within an organization and
how better decision making and actions can be developed across the board
throughout the entire organization.

“Today’s business environment can be very challenging
especially for young graduates seeking to enter the workplace,” Dr. Ahmed Rector, professor at Prince Sultan University, said. “Our partnership with CIMA will
empower our students to build a successful career as soon as they graduate and
help them pursue new opportunities in business, finance and related sectors.”
