Qatar Airways Cargo named Overall Carrier of the Year

Qatar Airways Cargo recently received the Payload Asia Award for the 2016 Overall Carrier of the Year.

“We owe this award to each and every cargo employee at the airline as a reflection of their dedication to provide the best services to our customers,” Qatar Airways Chief Officer Cargo Ulrich Ogiermann said. “We would also like to thank our customers for placing their trust in Qatar Airways Cargo as we continue to offer our customers the best airfreight products and innovative solutions through our growing fleet and rapidly expanding network.”

The freight branch of Qatar Airways serves more than 50 exclusive freighter destinations across the globe. It is the third largest international cargo carrier in the world and features a fleet of 21 freighters. This includes Boeing 777 freighters, Airbus A330 freighters and Boeing 747 freighters.

Among its products are QR Express, which provides a simple booking process for time-sensitive shipments; QR Pharma, which delivers temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals; QR Fresh, which handles temperature-sensitive perishables; QR Live, which transports live animals; and QR Charter, which offers a variety of charter services.

The Overall Carrier of the Year award is the third honor Qatar Airways Cargo received for 2016. It was recognized with the International Award for Excellence in Air Cargo at the Air Cargo India 2016 exhibition and conference, as well as All-Cargo Carrier Award at the 33rd Cargo Airline of the Year event.
