Qatar Airways’ corporate jet division, Qatar Executive, is the Middle East’s first charter business jet operator to receive the Third-Country Operator Safety Certificate from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
The third-country operator (TCO) safety certificate will allow Qatar Executive flights to enter all European Union (EU) nations.

As of 2016, all commercial operators flying into the EU will be required to hold internationally recognized safety certifications.

This decision standardizes safety certification standards for the entire EU, eliminating the need for carriers to apply for operating permits in each individual European country.

Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker said Qatar’s national carrier is proud to receive the new TCO safety certificate.

“Being the first business aviation operator in the Middle East to be awarded the EASA TCO certificate demonstrates that Qatar Executive is at the forefront of international aviation standards and that we are setting a benchmark for operational excellence across our industry,” Al Baker said. “The new safety authorization is a testament to our group’s high standards of safety, security and attention to detail in all operational aspects and is a proud moment for the company.”

The certification will allow Qatar Executive to continue its global expansion efforts, Al Baker said. Qatar Airways is among the few international airlines offer private jet service.
