Qatar Airways has been named the official international
airline partner of the Sydney Swans, an Australian-rules football team in the Australian Football League
(AFL), Qatar Airways’ first venture into AFL sponsorship.

The three-year sponsorship is a milestone for Qatar Airways in
Australia, showcasing its commitment to the region where it has doubled its
footprint in 2016. Sydney and Adelaide joined the global network
in March and May respectively and Qatar Airways also serves Perth and Melbourne.

“Qatar Airways has long supported some of the best sports
clubs and events in the world,” Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker said. “We strongly believe in connecting with
our global travelers through their passion for sport and have been looking
for the right partner for Qatar Airways in Australia’s sports arena.”

Al Baker noted the support of the Australian community in
flying Qatar Airways and he said that the company looks forward to sharing in
Australian travelers’ love of football and their commitment to the Sydney
Swans.

“Qatar Airways is a global brand and leader in international
air travel, so we’re delighted to have them join the Sydney Swans as our
Official International Airline Partner,” Sydney Swans Chairman  Andrew
Pridham said. “Both organisations share a common goal in that we are passionate
about delivering premium experiences and strive for excellence in everything we
do.”
