Qatar Airways launched the first A350 XWB aircraft service to Singapore and the Asia Pacific Region as its inaugural flight landed at the Singapore Changi Airport

on Monday.

According to the airline, it is the first to offer A350 service to Singapore. The A350 aircraft has been used primarily by Qatar Airlines since it was approved by the Eropean Aviation Safety Agency and the Federal Aviation Administration in 2014.

“The A350 XWB is the third and final major new aircraft in a decade and Qatar Airways is delighted to be the first global airline to fly this state-of-the-art aircraft into Singapore and Asia Pacific,” Qatar Airways’ Chief Operations Officer Marwan Koleilat said.“Singapore is a key market for Qatar Airways and we remain committed to offering our Singapore-based passengers the best in-flight experience possible. With the A350 XWB, all 283 passengers can be assured of unprecedented levels of comfort across all classes when travelling to Doha and onwards to key destinations in Europe and the Americas.”

This route is the second that has been established for this model of aircraft; the first is to Frankfurt, Germany. The plane features 247 economy class seats and 36 business class seats. There are several entertainment options and each seat has a complementary screen for in-flight activity.
