Qatar Chamber meets with delegation from Turkey, discusses increase in bilateral trade

The Qatar Chamber of Commerce recently met with Turkish Ambassador to Qatar Fikret Ozer, a Turkish delegation and Qatari businesspeople. 

The highlight of the meeting was the announcement that bilateral trade between Qatar and Turkey will increase to $2 billion in the near future.

The Turkish delegation included representatives from 22 companies, representing the Turkish Electro Technology Exporters’ Association (TET). TET is a professional establishment that deals with export issues and activities for its member companies.

“Turkish companies have invested in latest technologies at their facilities to reach the capability to provide necessary research and development and technology for many products,” Ozer said in a press release. “Turkish industries produce high value-added and high-tech products, and its share in the export basket of Turkey is continuously increasing, together with the total export volume in the international market, which is worth $35 billion.”

Qatar Chamber Vice Chairman Mohamed bin Twar spoke during the meeting, talking about the countries have a shared vision for Arab issues.

“Qatari-Turkish relations are distinct and can serve as a model for other countries,” bin Twar said. “Qatar Chamber welcomes and urges Turkish and Qatari businessmen to set up more partnerships and joint ventures, and to explore new areas of cooperation for the benefit of both countries.”
