Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign
Affairs has expressed condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist
attack on the church of St. Peter and St. Paul, attached to the St. Mark’s
Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Egypt’s capital, Cairo, which led to
the killing and injury of many innocent people.

The ministry offered condolences to the families of the
victims while noting that its position at the governmental and popular levels completely
rejects all terrorist attacks regardless of motives. According to the ministry,
these attacks contradict both Islamic and human principles.

Qatar additionally expressed denunciation and disapproval of
claims that it was involved in the terrorist attack — a claim that is predicated
on the pretense that suspect Mohab Moustafa visited Qatar in 2015.

Ambassador Ahmed Al Rumaihi, director at the ministry’s Information
Office, stated that the claims are an attempt to cover up
failures of designated authorities at the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Additionally,
Al Rumaihi stated, the claims hurt attempts to deepen the ties between what he
called two brotherly countries.
