Shops in Qatar’s north and Ruwais have been hit with violations from Qatar’s
Ministry of Economy and Commerce during a recent inspection..

The ministry said the violations were handed out because the shops in question failed
to declare prices, advertise in Arabic and hold a
license for advertising, thus violating the provisions of Law
No. (8) of 2008 and law No. (5) of 1984 on selling through sales (clearance).

The shops with be charged with negligence in an act of consumer protection, the ministry said. It also plans to increase its campaigns for inspecting
shops and other businesses, and will continue to take action when
businesses are found in violation of Qatar’s laws.

The public is being urged to report business abuses or
irregularities through the proper channels
of communication.
