The Qatar Leadership Academy, part of the Qatar Foundation, signed an agreement Tuesday with Aspire Academy that allows the two educational organizations to collaborate in developing Qatar’s academic and sports leaders of the future.

Aspire Academy puts a focus on sports and physical activities, helping Qatar nurture up-and-coming athletes; Qatar Leadership Academy is a military school that sets high academic standards for cadets.

The memorandum of understanding binding the institutions will see Aspire Academy and Qatar Leadership Academy exchange the expertise and best practices developed in each school. Aspire Academy Director General

Ivan Bravo and Qatar Leadership Academy Director

Ali Ahmed Al Kuwari signed the agreement.

The academies will exchange teaching strategies and practices for student mentoring. They will also organize joint activities and programs to build academic cooperation between the schools.

The goal is to form a holistic approach for student mentoring and character building at both institutions. Bravo and Al Kuwari expect the sports and leadership development techniques used at Aspire Academy to mesh well with the self-discipline approach taken at the military school.

“We both share the same objective of building a future generation of leaders in both academics and sports,” Bravo said. “At Aspire Academy, we spare no effort in fulfilling this objective, which will in return contribute to strengthen Qatar’s position on the global map. We will provide all the support and expertise necessary to the success of this agreement, and we look forward to cooperating with Qatar Leadership Academy in developing the future of our students.”
