Qatar participates in ministerial meeting ahead of Arab Development Summit

Dr. Saud bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, Deputy Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Finance, led Qatar’s delegation at a ministerial-level meeting of the Economic and Social Council. The meeting, held in Baghdad, Iraq, aimed to prepare for the upcoming Arab Development Summit.

The session’s agenda covered several significant topics. These included reviewing the Secretary-General’s report on joint Arab economic and social development efforts and supporting Yemen’s development needs plan and infrastructure projects. Additionally, discussions focused on a project to support families displaced by war within Palestinian territories, developments concerning the Greater Arab Free Trade Area and the Arab Customs Union, as well as preparations for the Second World Summit for Social Development scheduled in Doha in November 2025.

This meeting is a preparatory step for the Development Summit set to take place on May 17, 2025, in Iraq.
