Qatar Petroleum and Saudi Aramco will be among the exhibitors at the 2016 World Energy Congress, the influential energy industry gathering being hosted by the World Energy Council Oct. 9-13 in Istanbul.

“Turkey is positioned at the crossroads of the most important energy markets at a time of profound global change in the energy debate, and it is an honor to host the 23rd World Energy Congress,” Hasan Murat Mercan, chair of the organizing committee of the 2016 World Energy Congress, said.

Many speakers and exhibitors have recently announced their participation in the upcoming congress, held every three years to bring together energy leaders and experts to discuss issues and showcase the latest technologies in the sector.

Among the already more than 170 confirmed speakers are BP Group CEO Bob Dudley, Econet Founder Strive Masiyiwa, Korea Gas Corporation CEO Seung-Hoon Lee and International Energy Agency Executive Director Fatih Birol.

“We are delighted to have such a high calier of organizations joining us as speakers and exhibitors,” Mercan said. “The congress is an excellent platform for all companies and organizations in the sector to come together, network, share ideas and collaborate on the future challenges and opportunities.”
