Qatar’s permanent
mission to the United Nations Office at Geneva recently stressed the importance that children received during Qatar National Vision 2030.

The mission reiterated the country’s position that
the international community must guarantee equal rights to human, social, economic and
environmental development.

Noor Ibrahim Al Sada, second secretary of Qatar’s permanent mission to the UN Office at Geneva, spoke during the annual Full-Day Meeting on the Rights of The Child and
said the agenda of Qatar’s 2030 sustainable development plan is an opportunity to
strengthen human rights for all people.

Qatar has
focused on children within its own borders. The country stressed the importance of the welfare of
children in its first national strategic development vision, including education, health care and family welfare. The country was ranked first in the Arab
region and fourth internationally in an education report released by the World
Economic Forum.

Qatar has
also focused on children outside its own borders. It has partnered with
entities to support education and health care in developing countries. Qatar
has also launched the Educate A Child initiative, which is part of Education Above All. The
program provides basic education to millions of children that have suffered
from poverty, conflicts, natural disasters and racism.
