A new agreement that involves Qatar Airways (QA) and Qatar
Tourism Authority (QTA) partnering with VFS Global will ensure travelers a
safe, efficient way to process their visas.

VFS is the top name in visa processing
services and the implementation of this system allows tourists to submit their
tourist visa application, process the documents efficiently and securely and
meet the quality standards expected by those visiting Qatar from different
countries around the globe.

The VFS Global system provides a convenient, fast way for
visitors to apply online, track the application process, and within 48 hours
obtain the visa. Select international QA offices and partnering offices will
allow passengers to apply directly.

“It is our intention to showcase the many tourism offerings
that can be experienced here in our beloved country Qatar,” Akbar al-Baker,
QA Group CEO, said. “This initiative is an improvement that we believe
will lead to even greater numbers of visitors to Qatar to experience all that
we have to offer.”

He went on to note that this year has seen a seven percent
increase in GCC visitors within the first six months compared to the same time
period from 2015. Qatar’s tourism is a large supporter to the national economy,
al-Baker noted.

The agreement was reached in the presence of Qatar’s
Ministry of Interior (MoI).
