His Excellency Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy, met with senior leaders from Japan’s energy industry in Tokyo on November 10, 2025. The meetings aimed to discuss cooperation between Qatar and Japan in the energy sector.

Minister Al-Kaabi held talks with top executives from several major Japanese companies. These included Yukio Kani, Chairman and Global CEO of JERA; Kenichi Hori, President and CEO of Mitsui; Akiya Kotani, Executive Vice President of Kansai Electric; Shunichi Kito, Representative Director and President & CEO of Idemitsu; Shigeru Yamada, Representative Director and Group CEO of Cosmo Energy Holdings; and Fujita Masahiro, Representative Director and Chairman of JAPEX.

According to the statement: “Discussions during the meetings focused on existing and future cooperation and further strengthening bilateral relations in the energy sector.”

The meetings highlight ongoing efforts by both countries to maintain strong ties in energy collaboration.
