QatarEnergy announced on April 1 that the Aqua 1, a fuel oil tanker under its charter, was struck by a missile in the northern territorial waters of Qatar during the early morning hours of Wednesday.

The company said no crew members were injured and there was no environmental impact from the incident.

According to QatarEnergy, the attack took place while the vessel was operating within Qatari waters. The statement did not provide further details about potential damage to the ship or any response measures taken following the incident.

The safety of crew and protection of marine environments are often top priorities for shipping companies operating in sensitive regions. Incidents involving commercial vessels can raise concerns about maritime security and operational risks in key shipping lanes.

QatarEnergy has not released additional information regarding possible investigations or future steps related to this event.
