QatarEnergy has declared force majeure to its buyers following its decision to halt production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and associated products. The announcement was made on March 4, 2026, in Doha.

The company stated, “QatarEnergy values its relationships with all of its stakeholders and will continue to communicate the latest available information.”

A force majeure declaration allows companies to suspend contractual obligations due to events beyond their control. This move could impact global LNG markets, as Qatar is a significant exporter of LNG.
