QatarEnergy concluded its “Tawteen Forum 2024” in Doha after two days of sessions aimed at supporting the localization of services and industries within Qatar’s energy sector. The forum was organized by QatarEnergy to expand the reach and adaptability of its Tawteen program, which focuses on increasing local content and encouraging partnerships that contribute to the country’s economic growth.
The event included both introductory and specialized sessions addressing topics related to the Tawteen initiative. Discussions focused on the enhanced In-Country Value Program and various strategies to help local companies meet changing industry demands. Attendees learned about efforts to empower micro and small enterprises, with a goal of boosting their competitiveness in the market.
Participants were briefed on QatarEnergy’s recently introduced Supplier Principles of Conduct during an interactive session that highlighted the company’s emphasis on compliance, safety, and integrity in supplier relationships.
Representatives from QatarEnergy provided details about updates to the Vendor Registration Process, demonstrating how their portal streamlines registration for suppliers and offering step-by-step guidance on requirements. Additional sessions covered subjects such as QatarEnergy’s Preferred Manufacturers’ List, health, safety, and environment standards designed for a sustainable energy future, principles of conduct, and best practices for improving supplier value and investor engagement.
H.E. Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President & CEO of QatarEnergy, attended the forum. He stated: “Tawteen Forum 2024″ was organized by QatarEnergy to help expand “Tawteen” program’s inclusivity and adaptability, and to enhance the localization of services and industries in the energy sector in the State of Qatar.”
The forum also provided opportunities for networking among participants through its associated exhibition.
