QatarEnergy has entered into a 17-year agreement with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) to supply up to 1 million tons per annum of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to India. Deliveries under the Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) are scheduled to begin in 2026, with LNG shipped directly to Indian terminals.

His Excellency Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy, commented on the deal: “We are delighted to extend our valued partnership with GSPC through this long-term SPA, which highlights our continued commitment to supporting India’s growing energy needs.”

He added: “This collaboration not only reinforces the enduring ties between our two companies but also contributes to India’s vision of enhancing its energy security and transitioning towards a cleaner energy mix. QatarEnergy remains committed to delivering safe and reliable LNG supplies to support India in its endeavors.”

The new SPA builds on an earlier long-term supply agreement signed by QatarEnergy and GSPC in 2019. The companies say the latest deal reflects ongoing trust and cooperation as well as their mutual interest in sustainable energy solutions.

QatarEnergy states that this agreement is part of its broader efforts to expand international partnerships, encourage cleaner energy options, and help meet economic development objectives in key markets.
