Qatargas’ Jetty Boil-Off Gas (JBOG) recovery facility recently loaded its 1,000th liquefied natural gas (LNG) ship, Rasheeda.

JBOG began operations in 2014, and since that time has safely recovered an estimated 535,000 metric tons of LNG — enough to provide power to 300,000 homes.

A special ceremony marked the milestone. In attendance were many officials and dignitaries, including Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al-Thani, JBOG chief operating officer for engineering and ventures, and Ahmad Helal Al-Mohannadi, JBOG chief operating officer of operations.

JBOG’s advancements are in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 initiative to reduce carbon emissions.
