Qatari minister leads delegation to economic summit

Qatar Minister of
Finance Ali Shareef Al Emadi recently led a delegation to the 47th
World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.


The
delegation was part of more than 3,000 political and economic leaders
who came to discuss major issues facing the world. Besides Al Emadi,
Qatar was represented by Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed
Al-Thani, minister of Economy and Commerce, and Sheikh Abdullah bin
Mohamed bin Saud Al-Thani, CEO of the Qatar Investment Authority. Al
Emadi met with WEF President Klaus Schwab during the trip.

Other
dignitaries on hand were British Prime Minister Theresa May, U.S. Vice
President Joe Biden, the presidents of Azerbaijan and Ukraine, the
Russian vice president, U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres, the
World Trade Organization director general, the IMF director, the
director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency and the
director general of the International Labor Organization.

The
forum held more than 400 sessions on issues such as global
cooperation, economic growth, capitalism reform, a new industrial
revolution, and rapid growth in communities.

WEF was
established in 1971 as a non-profit foundation with the goal of
engaging the countries of the world in discussions on politics and
business. As an independent and impartial agency, WEF is not tied to
any special interests.
