During the first quarter of 2016, statistics show that Ras
Al Khaimah played a major role in the UAE’s industrial sector growth, accounting
for 50 percent of the number of new factories built and 30 percent of the total
new industrial licenses.

Ras Al Khaimah, the northernmost emirate in the UAE, has a
population of 345,000 and covers a land area of 1,684 square kilometers. A fast-growing emirate, it has seen a yearly growth rate average of 8.8 percent — one of
the highest in the MENA region. Sheikh Saud Al Qasimi, ruler
of the emirate, took over from his father in 2010.

This emirate has a large-bulk handling port at Saqr, which is
used as the base of operations for the region’s quarrying industry that
provides construction materials for the entire Gulf region.

The UAE recorded $40 million in industrial investments in
the first quarter in 2016, helping the Emirates grow — and Ras Al Khaimah is
right at the front of that growth.
