A longtime Renault
Trucks executive has been named the company’s president for Greater Middle
East including Markets North and South.

The company announced that Grégoire
Blaise will take over the role with the exit of Lars-Erik Forsbergh, who will
head the Volvo Trucks operations in Southeast Asia in Singapore. Before being
appointed to the position, Blaise served as general manager and VP of China for
Sunwin Bus, a Volvo Group and SAIC joint venture. Blaise has been with the
company since 1999.

In the new
position, Blaise will oversee all Renault Trucks operations for both North and
South markets in the greater Middle East region, including Egypt, Jordan,
Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Kuwait, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia,
Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman, Yemen, Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea,
Djibouti and Somalia.

“I am very
proud to assume this new role at Renault Trucks,” he said. “The Greater
Middle East region is very important for us and this has been demonstrated by
the significant investments we’ve made in recent years. We’re thoroughly
committed to serving our loyal customers in the Middle East and my primary
objective is ensure that we continue to meet their needs and exceed their
expectations.”

Blaise was
appointed to this position in August by Christophe Martin, senior vice president at Renault Trucks International. He now manages a total of 21 markets.

Prior to
working as general manager and VP of China for Sunwin Bus, the 46-year-old
executive served as the managing director for Renault Trucks Dealer
Subsidiaries Holding for Strasbourg (2006-2010) and Marseille (2010-2012).
Blaise quickly moved up the ladder for Volvo Group Governmental Sales into the
general manager, VP spot, where he was responsible for managing manufacturing
and purchasing, marketing, sales and improvement of Sunwin-branded products.
