Two Rixos hotels are the first in the United Arab Emirates to launch virtual hotel tours on Google’s Street View platform.

The Dubai-based hotel chain partnered with Google to create online walkthroughs of Rixos The Palm Dubai and Rixos Bab Al Bahr in Ras Al Khaimah.

Potential guests can search the hotels and use Google Street View to get an in-depth look at the entire resort. The virtual tour is designed to seem as if the user is standing in the hotels.

Rixos developed the initiative as part of the company’s commitment to providing a memorable vacation experience for all guests. The virtual tour will serve as a guide and tool to help potential guests plan their stays in the hotels.

‘We are really pleased to have this tool in place and feel that this will revolutionize the hotel booking process,” Rixos The Palm General Manager Alexander Schneier said. “As the first in the country to roll this out, we are setting a standard of prearrival experience which we are confident the rest of the industry will aspire.”

The tool allows potential guests to make more informed decisions about their stay including which room they want to be in and which restaurants to try. The virtual tour also acts a portal for booking rooms, which is available through the Google platform.
