Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has been awarded the inaugural “Life of Leadership Excellence Award” by Sandhurst in London. This marks the first time a civilian leader has received this prestigious accolade. The award acknowledges Al Tayer’s significant contributions to the energy and water sectors, as well as his embodiment of UAE values and visionary leadership.

The award celebrates a career marked by excellence, innovation, and service that has helped position Dubai and the UAE as leaders in sustainable energy and utility services. Vaughan Kent-Payne, Director of The Sandhurst Trust, emphasized the importance of service in leadership while honoring Al Tayer: “It is therefore a profound honour to bestow this inaugural award upon His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer…in recognition of his exceptional service and visionary leadership.”

Al Tayer expressed gratitude for receiving the award, attributing it to the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He noted their commitment to excellence as an inspiration for all institutions in the UAE.

He also highlighted DEWA’s organizational culture rooted in leadership values: “At Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), we have embedded these noble values of leadership across all levels of the organisation.”

In conclusion, Al Tayer acknowledged those who contributed to his recognition, including Vaughan Kent-Payne, Major General Paul Nanson, Colonel Mike Cooke MBE, Colonel Richard Westley OBE MC, and Craig Preston.
