The Council
of Saudi Chambers (CSC) recently appointed Mansour Al Shethri to the position of Saudi Arabian
representative to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Commercial Arbitration
Center.
Al Shethri,
the vice chairperson of Riyadh’s Chamber of Commerce and chairperson of
CSC’s National Committee on Labor Affairs, expressed his thanks for being entrusted to the position, adding that he will give his
all to the role.
He also said that it was crucial and urgent for him and his colleagues to
achieve their goals in settling commercial disputes.
The GCC
Commercial Arbitration Center, established in 1993, is a regional arbitration
authority, meaning it settles disputes regardless of the country of
origin. It is independent from the six GCC member states, which allows it to have administrative, financial and technical
freedom. Its regulations are not subject to control, and its procedures cannot
be challenged, facts that help accelerate the implementation of provisions.
