The Saudi Assistant Minister of Finance for Macro-Fiscal Policies and International Relations, Eng. Abdullah A. BinZaraah, led the Saudi Arabian delegation at the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development in Seville, Spain. The conference took place from June 30 to July 4, 2025.

In his address, Assistant Minister BinZaraah highlighted Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting international efforts towards sustainable development. He stated that this commitment is demonstrated through the Kingdom’s support via national, regional, and international financial institutions across various sectors such as infrastructure, health, energy, education, and humanitarian aid.

BinZaraah pointed out that the sovereign debt crisis poses a significant challenge to development. He emphasized Saudi Arabia’s leadership in launching the “Common Framework for Debt Treatment” during its G20 Presidency in 2020. This initiative provides a platform for creditors and debtors to manage debt transparently and fairly.

The Assistant Minister reiterated that Saudi Arabia prioritizes financial and structural reforms aimed at achieving inclusive growth by enhancing productivity, rebuilding trust, ensuring sustainability, protecting vulnerable groups, and empowering women and youth.

The Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development seeks to mobilize global financing and reform the international financial architecture to accelerate sustainable development achievements.
