Saudi Arabia is preparing to host the second AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies (ACEME) on February 8-9, 2026. The event will take place in AlUla Governorate and is organized through a partnership between the Saudi Ministry of Finance and the International Monetary Fund. Attendees will include finance ministers, central bank governors, policymakers, heads of international financial institutions, and economic experts from various countries.

The conference comes at a time of significant change in the global economy. These changes require emerging market economies to build resilience and seek opportunities that can support sustainable growth and improve living standards. Organizers expect these efforts to have a positive impact on global economic stability.

ACEME reflects both the ongoing strategic relationship between Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Finance and the International Monetary Fund, as well as Saudi Arabia’s increasing role in supporting international economic dialogue and cooperation.

His Excellency Minister of Finance Mohammed Aljadaan said that hosting the conference continues Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting global efforts aimed at strengthening financial and economic stability. He highlighted that emerging market economies are key players in the global system because they directly affect worldwide growth and stability.

Minister Aljadaan stated: “The AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies provides a unique platform for exchanging views on global economic developments and discussing policies and reforms that will support inclusive growth and enhance economic resilience, in light of broader international cooperation that contributes to confronting common challenges.”

International Monetary Fund Managing Director Dr. Kristalina Georgieva added: “The AlUla conference provides a vital platform for emerging economies to discuss how they can navigate the risks and embrace the opportunities ahead. In these times of sweeping transformations in the global economy, driven by technology, demography and geopolitics, policy makers face a more challenging and uncertain environment. Countries should work together to strengthen resilience through sound macroeconomic and financial policies.”

Participants are expected to share experiences, coordinate policies, support paths toward reform, raise awareness about challenges facing emerging markets, showcase successful solutions from some countries, promote investment attraction, improve living standards, and encourage prosperity.
