Saudi Arabian specialty chemical consultant and provider Chemsbro,
based in Jeddah,
recently signed an agreement with
PWT, a subsidiary of Canada-based H2O Innovation, for the distribution of its SpectraGuard
antiscalant product.
Chemsbro supplies will be utilized by Saudi seawater
desalination facilities. Additionally, the company has landed a three-year contract
with Riyadh to supply and service seven water treatment plants, treating approximately
30 percent of all water in the city and enabling PWT to introduce its products
to the nation.
“Chemsbro is delighted to establish a unique relationship
with PWT,” Chemsbro CEO
Nizar Kammourie said. “This partnership will allow PWT
to enter the Saudi market and benefit from the competitive edge that Chemsbro
enjoys in the public and private sectors. For its part, Chemsbro will benefit
from the experience and R&D capabilities of PWT in the membrane-based
desalination industry.”
Chemsbro, which belongs to SBCC Water Group, has clients that include the
Water and Electricity Ministry of Saudi Arabia, National Water Company and the
Saudi Industrial Property Authority (Modon).
“We are very excited about the business venture with
Chemsbro,” Gregory Madden, PWT vice president for specialty products and services, said. “We
are positioning ourselves to establish a presence in Saudi Arabia, the world’s
biggest desalination market. Many initiatives and huge investments are done
worldwide to promote water efficiency and Saudi Arabia differentiates itself by
its wastewater reuse market, which is the third largest in the world.”
