The Kingdom
of Saudi Arabia is intently following the developments of the call for a
temporary ceasefire in Syria, according to a statement released by the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

An official
source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported that the call for a truce is
appreciated by the kingdom as it has offered a promise to assist the Syrian
people suffering from constant violence in the country.

The ministry
official noted the importance of Bashar Al-Assad’s regime and its allies to
adhere to the ceasefire order and added the kingdom’s wish that the moments of
peace would allow the political process to continue in Syria. The source added
that a peaceful transition of power can be achieved on the basis of Geneva I
and the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2254.
