Saudi Aramco recently hosted oil and gas representatives working in the supply chain management field during the 32nd GCC Supply Chain Committee meeting.

Numerous supply chain organizations, including Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Bahrain Petroleum Company, Kuwait National Petroleum Company, Kuwait Oil Company, Petroleum Development of Oman and Qatar Petroleum shared their experiences within the ever-evolving sector.

They discussed mutual areas of interests, best practices and benchmarking opportunities. Other topics of conversation included cost efficiency challenges and solutions, inventory management, an electronic marketplace platform and supply chain transformation strategies.

Abdulaziz Abdulkarim, vice president of procurement and supply chain at Saudi Aramco, said his company’s supply chain transformation is focused on creating the best procurement processes and using innovative technology.

“The role of our supply chain organizations in optimizing investments is more important than ever,” Abdulkarim said. “We must continue to drive greater efficiencies and find ways to do things better and more cost effective, while maintaining higher levels of quality and delivery and leveraging enabling technologies.”
