Saudi, British business council leaders discuss plan for economic growth

to discuss mutual relations and concerns between Saudi Arabia and Britain and

to develop ideas on how to better collaborative efforts between the two countries.

One topic brought up by Al Zamil at the meeting was strengthening Saudi-British relations, specifically concerning the economy and the cooperation of both countries in developing programs aimed to better education, and health and training.

also mentioned the opportunity to originate programs that would better the strategic plans in private industries of both countries, particularly the small and medium business enterprise (SMEs) sector. He also promoted the idea of transferring technology into the kingdom through the Saudi-British economic balance program.

Symons, who is also chairperson of the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce, agreed on the economic development front and said increasing trade cooperation with the kingdom was important. She also suggested housing an office in Saudi Arabia to allow follow-ups to be made on any British firms and economic opportunities in the Saudi market. 

The leaders also discussed meeting every six months to better bilateral relationships, discuss challenges each country faces and work together in bettering the economic forecasts for one another. They also mentioned that the meetings and continued partnership could improve job opportunities Saudi youths.

During the meeting, the leaders also looked at SBJBC’s practices that aim to improve trade partnerships between Britain and Saudi Arabia and the council’s efforts to develop ventures that support the transfer of technology, knowledge exchange, training human resources and capital partnerships.
