On October 1, 2025, the Board of Directors of Saudi Electricity Company announced the appointment of Eng. Khalid Salem Alghamdi as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Eng. Khalid AlGhamdi brings over two decades of experience in engineering, digital transformation, automation, and information technology. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia and a master’s degree in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix in the United States. AlGhamdi has completed leadership development programs at institutions including Harvard Business School. His previous roles include prominent leadership positions at Aramco and Saudi Electricity Company. He also currently serves as Chairman of the Arab Union of Electricity.
