Saudi minister applauds new US leadership

Saudi Arabia’s
foreign minister welcomed the new American administration under President Donald Trump recently, saying many of its policies align with Saudi Arabia’s.

“We are very, very optimistic about the Trump Administration, and on working closely with it to deal with the many challenges, not only in our region, but in the world,” Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir said.

Al-Jubeir spoke in Riyadh about the importance of his nation’s relationship with the United States, highlighting their work together on international
security and counterterrorism, economics and investment, and people-to-people
cultural exchanges.

His said Saudi Arabia agrees with the Trump Administration on the containment of Iran, the defeat of
terrorists and extremists, and a restoration of a U.S. presence in the world.
