The ties between Saudi Arabia and the United States are very strong, and the new Trump Administration promises to make things even better, Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister said recently.

Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir spoke at a news
conference in Riyadh about the importance of his country’s
multifaceted relationship with the United States. He said the countries maintain their longstanding relationship in international security and
counterterrorism, economics and investment, and people-to-people cultural
exchanges.

“We are very, very optimistic about the Trump Administration, and on working closely with it to deal with the many challenges not only in our region, but in the world,” Al-Jubeir said.

He said Saudi Arabia agrees with most of Trump’s policies, including the containment of Iran, the defeat
of ISIS and other extremists, and a restoration of a U.S. presence in the region.
