The Saudi Ministry of Finance, through its Financial Skills Center, has concluded a five-day Multi-Year Financial Planning workshop at the ministry’s headquarters. The event brought together financial professionals from various government agencies.
According to the ministry, the goal was to improve the capacity of government bodies in creating medium-term financial plans and to support more accurate and transparent forecasting of future obligations. The workshop featured sessions on practical uses for multi-year budgeting, shared experiences that have enhanced financial planning across agencies, and reviewed technical updates in the “Hyperion” system.
A spokesperson said: “The workshop aimed to enhance the readiness of government entities in developing their medium-term financial plans and to strengthen their ability to prepare more accurate and transparent estimates of future commitments. It included a presentation of key practical applications of the multi-year budget, a discussion on the most significant experiences and practices that contributed to improving financial planning, as well a review of the technical updates in the ‘Hyperion’ system.”
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Finance to increase fiscal responsibility within public sector institutions.
