Saudi and Turkish businesses came together recently in a
meeting in Istanbul that resulted in eight memorandums of understanding in the
industrial, real estate, finance and military industries sectors.
The
Saudi-Turkish Business Council event was sponsored by the Foreign Economic
Relations Board of Turkey.
Saudi Minister of Commerce and Investment Dr. Majid Al
Qasabi and Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci both gave speeches
at the event. Zeybekci noted Turkey’s attempts to develop a
business culture fee of obstacles, especially as far as Saudi investors are
concerned.
Al Qasabi, for his part, spoke of Saudi Arabia’s
dedication to enhancing investment relations with Turkey. Raising bilateral
investments is of the utmost importance to the Kingdom.
Chairperson of the Saudi side of the Saudi-Turkish Business
Council, Mazen Rajab, praised the special relations joining the two countries. Chairperson
of the Turkish side of the joint council, Yousef Johar, spoke at the meeting
about focusing on deeper level strategies for growing investments in the
industrial infrastructure sector.
Presentations were also given at the meeting by Maher Jamal, chairperson at the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and member of the Executive
Committee of the joint business council; Ziad Farsi, vice chairperson for the
Saudi side; and Yousef Halif, executive director of Iman for Tourism and Hajj
and Pilgrimage.
