Saudi Arabia-based telecommunications service provider Selevision will protect its new Seevi entertainment service with Verimatrix’s revenue security solution.

The cardless security solution, called the Video Content Authority System (VCAS) for Broadcast-Hybrid, secures service delivery over RF networks using server-side, two-way key management. It also uses enhanced HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) security to protect on-demand and unicast linear services. Additionally, VCAS for Broadcast-Hybrid allows consumers to have a seamless content watching experience.

“Selevision is clearly committed to providing its users with the access to the content and services they demand,” Verimatrix President Steve Oetegenn said. “We are delighted to play such a critical role in this exciting deployment.”

Seevii delivers 200 HD and SD channels across a range of platforms including different HEVC-based set-top boxes, iOS and Android devices and a Web portal. Other services offered by Seevii are restart TV, catch-up TV and video-on-demand.

“When Selevision first planned this new service, choosing the right revenue security solution was of paramount importance,” Selevision Dubai Chief Operating Officer Ammar Al Hares said. “We selected VCAS for Broadcast-Hybrid because of its proven ability to provide robust protection for premium content library, as well as its ability to scale to protect future services.”
