Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic met this week with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ambassador to Serbia Juma Rashid Saif Zayed Al Dhaheri.

Nikolic cited projects in Cuprija and Novi Pazar as ones that are important for Serbia’s citizens and are the best measure of increased and thriving cooperation between Serbia and the UAE. Al Dhaheri told Nikolic of the results of UAE-funded humanitarian projects in two locations in southwestern Serbia that have been completed in the last few days.

Nikolic and Al Dhaheri talked about the outlook for the expansion of economic cooperation between Serbia and the UAE, and Nikolic pointed out that UAE investment in Serbian industry could be mutually beneficial.

“Serbia has skilled and experienced workforce, but not enough investments in production,” he said. “The support from the UAE could be of great significance for all interested parties.”
