The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) recently announced that it has supplied four- and five-star hotels and luxury hotel apartments in Sharjah with Interactive Touch Screens (ITS).

This is part of the SCTDA’s Innovative Tourism Approach, which is one of the crucial elements of the Sharjah Tourism Vision 2021. The goal of the project is to increase tourism rates by 10 million tourists by 2021.

Supplying ITS to major resorts and hotels in the region is a new step in applying the initiative. Eventually, ITS distribution will include all tourist attractions, hotels, shopping malls, airports, museums and government departments throughout the emirate. The purpose is to offer tourist services that are innovative and that fulfill all of a tourist’s needs in any category.

“Technology has today made it possible to enhance the tourism experience through increased connectivity,”

Director General of SCTDA

Khalid Jasim Al Midfa said. “Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority is keen to make use of the latest technological advances as one of the key pillars of the Sharjah Tourism Vision 2021. We believe that ITS will contribute further to establishing Sharjah as a leading tourism destination.”
