Sheikh Mohammed visits Emirates NBD headquarters to discuss strategy and youth empowerment

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited the headquarters of Emirates NBD at Dubai CommerCity on November 13, 2025. The visit was hosted by Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates NBD Group, along with Shayne Nelson, Group Chief Executive Officer.

During his visit, Sheikh Mohammed met with members of the Emirates NBD Group Executive Committee. He received briefings on the group’s overall strategy, main business sectors, international activities, and services provided by Emirates Islamic, which is the group’s Shariah-compliant banking division. Updates were also given on the organization’s approach to workforce management.

The briefing included information about the scale of Emirates NBD’s operations. The group employs over 30,000 people from 90 different nationalities. This diverse workforce supports its ability to provide a range of financial solutions across multiple markets.

Sheikh Mohammed also engaged with members of the Emirates NBD Group Youth Council. The council is part of efforts to empower young people in the UAE and equip them to contribute to innovation in the financial sector. He learned about the council’s goals and its vision for helping youth support Dubai and the UAE as they continue to develop as major financial centers.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed appreciation for Emirates NBD Group’s contributions over several decades. “His Highness expressed his appreciation for the Emirates NBD Group’s services, commending its strong legacy and its continued impact on the region’s financial landscape, starting from the 1960s. Today, the Group is one of the leading banking institutions in the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye (MENAT), recognised for driving innovation in financial services and supporting economic development.”
