Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre’s new facility at American
University of Sharjah (AUS) opened Oct. 5 with support and attendance from Sheikha
Bodour Al Qasimi, chairperson of Sharjah Investment and Development
Authority (Shurooq) and chairperson of Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa).

The purpose of the new facility is to serve as a hub for favorable
start-ups and develop an ongoing educational facility to fill the need between
the university and the work force. The new unit will also host talks with
industry leaders and workshops to help develop self-awareness and growth within
emerging entrepreneurs.

The opening event was attended by nine noteworthy
dignitaries, including Khawla Al Serkal, director general at Sharjah
Ladies Club; Saif Al-Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah; Marwan Al Serkal, CEO of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority
(Shurooq); Hussain Al-Mahmoudi, CEO of American University of Sharjah
Enterprises; Dr. Khalid Al Midfa, chairman of the Sharjah Media
Corporation (SMC); and Khalid Al Midfa, chairman of Sharjah Commerce
and Tourism Development Authority.

In addition, Salim Al
Qasimi, chairman of the ruler’s office; Mohammed Al Thani,
chairman of the Sharjah Department of Statistics and Community Development
(DSCD); Fahim Al Qasimi, chairman of the Department
of Government Relations; Dr. Björn Kjerfve, chancellor of American University
of Sharjah (AUS); Najla Al-Midfa, general manager of Sheraa; and Sultan Al Qassemi, founder and chairman of Barjeel Securities took part in the
event.

The shared workspace aims to help the community of entrepreneurs
collaborate with others in Sharjah and throughout the world to exchange ideas and
share knowledge.
