Smoothie King is expanding into the Middle East with the opening of its first Dubai location on Thursday.

Through a partnership with Al Ghurair Retail, Smoothie King is opening at the BurJuman Shopping District to serve nutritional smoothies. The Dubai location moves Smoothie King closer to its goal of surpassing 1,000 locations by the end of next year; currently Smoothie King has more than 800 locations.

“We are thrilled to introduce Smoothie King as our first ever food and beverage brand and a meaningful new addition to Al Ghurair Retail’s rapidly expanding portfolio of companies in the UAE,” Al Ghurair Retail General Manager Laurent Cabioch said. “Al Ghurair Retail has seen the increasing demand for healthier food and beverage products for those on the go and Smoothie King will meet this demand. We are eager to build upon this opening and take the concept from Dubai into the rest of the GCC.”

Smoothie King CEO Wan Kim said the new location will help people in Dubai live a healthier lifestyle and add the brand’s international presence.
