Research and publishing firm The Business Year (TBY) recently appointed Betul Cakaloglu as the new managing director for its Middle East operations.

“This appointment reflects her strong track record and extensive ties in the region, as well as the central role the Middle East plays in TBY’s global coverage and network,” TBY CEO Ayse Valentin said. “Under her leadership, we expect this significance to continue to grow.”

Cakaloglu previously served as a country director and regional director for the company. In her new role, she will be tasked with overseeing its operations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Sharjah and Qatar. This includes managing TBY’s government and partner relations, as well as expanding its in-depth coverage of the region.

“The GCC and its important economies have been a success story, both for foreign investors and as a model for other countries looking to attract FDI,” Cakaloglu said. “As such, the region is of major importance for TBY and our readers around the world. I look forward to expanding our coverage of the area as well as building upon our relationships with the top government institutions and private sector players.”

Each of TBY’s country-specific publications across the globe, including those in the Middle East, feature interviews and insight on the economies that make up the world.
