General Automotive Company, Oman’s official distributor for Mitsubishi products, recently launched two new Mitsubishi FUSO Trucks in the Gulf nation – the FUSO FA/FI and the FUSO FJ.

FUSO is Mitsubishi’s top-selling line of medium-duty commercial trucks. The latest models to come to Oman feature cutting-edge engineering to give the trucks top-notch reliability and a flexibility that allows the trucks to tackle a multitude of tasks.

The FUSO FA/FI and FJ, like all FUSO trucks, come standard with a common rail, powerful direct injection engines and high fuel efficiency. Plus they are easy to maintain with lower overall operational costs. The FA/FI also has some new features such as a six-speed overdrive transmission that provides smooth shifting to reduce driver fatigue. The FA/FI has reinforced chassis and rear-axle support to allow the truck to do extra heavy work. That allows the truck to carry 9 to 13 tons.

The FUSO FJ model is specifically designed for more heavy-duty operations, with a 6.4 liter turbo diesel engine featuring a nine-speed shifting range. The FJ can handle a 25-ton load.

“Over the past four decades Mitsubishi FUSO, in partnership with GAC, has positioned itself as a key player in the Oman commercial vehicle arena,” Mark Tomlinson, general manager of GAC’s parent company, said. “With an extensive range of commercial vehicles ranging from lightweight commercial vehicles, to medium and heavy-duty trucks and buses, Mitsubishi FUSO has a vehicle to suit most commercial requirements.”
