The Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat), a UAE-based satellite operator, recently agreed to implement the Hughes JUPITER System in an effort to expand its services.

The system
is developed by Hughes Network Systems, a global leader in broadband
satellite solutions and services.

“The
demand for more services and higher performance is growing in all
markets,” Marcus Vilaca, chief technical officer at Yahsat, said. “Maximizing bandwidth is a high priority across all
of our segments as it provides cost-effective solutions to our service partners
and end-users. The JUPITER System gives us the highest level of bandwidth
efficiency on the market today.”

Through YahClick, Yahsat
delivers satellite broadband services to
consumers, business and governments in the Middle East, Africa and Central and
Southwest Asia. The JUPITER addition will let the company continue to scale while maintaining its customer service and performance.

“Even
as capacity grows with major HTS satellite launches over the next few years,
providers need to use bandwidth as efficiently as possible to meet steadily
growing demand,” Dave Jupin, senior vice president of
international operations at Hughes, said. “By increasing the
amount of scalable and guaranteed serviceable bandwidth on each satellite,
JUPITER gives providers the flexibility to offer new services while maintaining
top performance.”
